The Ministry of Energy and Water has commenced the first phase of the project to light the main road between Sidon and Jezzine with solar energy, following efforts and follow-up by Jezzine MPs from the "Strong Republic" bloc, Ghada Ayoub and Saed Al-Assmar. Additional phases covering villages in the district are expected to be completed later.
According to a statement, this project is the result of continuous follow-up on development and infrastructure files in the region, aiming to improve road safety, reduce traffic risks, and ensure sustainable lighting on one of the key axes connecting Jezzine with its surroundings.
This step forms part of the work path to secure practical and tangible projects that serve the residents and visitors of the district, while adopting solar energy as an effective and sustainable option that contributes to improving public services and alleviating burdens amid difficult economic conditions.
