Municipalities in Tyre Urge Caution and Warn of Risks Before Ceasefire Takes Effect

A tentative return of displaced persons to the city of Tyre and its surrounding villages has been observed.

Municipalities in the region have issued statements urging residents to exercise caution and delay their return.

The Civil Defense – Islamic Health Authority, in a statement, called on residents not to head back to their villages until the ceasefire has been officially announced and is in effect by the competent authorities. The statement emphasized that personal safety must remain the highest priority, noting that dangers do not immediately cease with the end of hostilities.

The statement also outlined a set of essential guidelines for returning residents to follow:

Refrain from traveling to villages at night and wait until daylight.

Confirm the safety of the area and roads: avoid rushing into villages or damaged neighborhoods and verify in advance that the routes leading to towns are safe.

Refuel the vehicle’s fuel tank completely before departure, as fuel stations may be unavailable in previously targeted areas and traffic congestion is possible on return routes.

Be cautious of unfamiliar objects: do not touch any suspicious or unknown items, as they may pose significant danger, and report them immediately to the relevant authorities.

Exercise caution regarding damaged buildings: structures partially collapsed may be unsafe for habitation, and it is preferable not to enter them without confirmation of their safety.

Check for gas leaks and electrical faults before operating any appliances.

Clean the premises carefully using protective equipment such as gloves, and avoid handling any unknown or hazardous materials.

Ensure drinking water and services are safe: use clean and safe water or bottled water if there is any doubt.

Seek medical assistance when necessary by contacting emergency teams in case of injuries or urgent situations.

Constantly supervise children to prevent them from approaching rubble or unfamiliar objects.

Raise awareness within families by educating all members about the risks clearly and simply.
