Opened Fire and Terrified Citizens... Ambush Caught Him!

"Social media platforms circulated a video showing a person firing shots from a military firearm toward a commercial establishment in the New Road – Sports City district, resulting in citizens being terrified and triggering a state of panic and fear.

Immediately, specialized units within the Internal Security Forces launched intensive field operations and investigative procedures to identify the perpetrator and determine his whereabouts.

On August 12, 2026, following meticulous follow-up and investigations, elements of the Beirut Investigation Unit’s Beirut Intelligence Task Force located the suspect, where a precise ambush was set up in the Omar Bihem area, leading to his arrest. It was revealed that he is T.H. (born in 2007, Palestinian nationality), wanted under an arrest warrant for theft, and a knife was found in his possession.

During interrogation, he confessed to carrying out the aforementioned gunfire.

He was handed over, along with the seized items, to the relevant police station for legal proceedings, pursuant to instructions from the competent judicial authority."
