Parliament Speaker Berri Meets Regie General Director, Health Minister
Speaker Nabih Berri received Regie General Director Naseef Saqlawi and a board delegation, then held talks with Health Minister Rakan Nasser al-Din on health conditions and ministry programs.

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri hosted Naseef Saqlawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of the Lebanese Tobacco and Tobacco Monopoly Administration—known as “Regie”—at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain al-Tineh. Saqlawi was accompanied by a delegation comprising members of Regie’s Board of Directors.
The meeting reviewed Regie’s operational programs and preparations for receiving tobacco harvests. It also addressed repercussions stemming from the Israeli aggression against Lebanon’s tobacco cultivation sector, alongside the sacrifices and hardships endured by tobacco farmers.
Following the session, Saqlawi stated: “We were honored to visit His Excellency the Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Nabih Berri, especially as we approach the receipt of whatever tobacco harvests farmers are able to deliver. We came seeking guidance and to hear the directives of His Excellency, who has long been—and remains—the foremost patron and guardian of Lebanon’s tobacco farming families.”
Berri also received Health Minister Rakan Nasser al-Din. The two discussed general conditions and political and field developments, with particular focus on health and hospital conditions as well as the Ministry of Health’s work programs.
