Parliamentary Education Delegation Submits Memorandum to President Aoun with Proposals to Amend Exam Mechanism

The head of the Parliamentary Education Committee, MP Hassan Murr, along with MPs Bilal Al-Hashimi and Ashraf Baydoun, conveyed to President Joseph Aoun the concerns of a wide segment of the educational community, especially students facing difficult security, social, and psychological conditions in various Lebanese regions.

The head of the Parliamentary Education Committee, MP Hassan Murr and MPs Bilal Al-Hashimi and Ashraf Baydoun, conveyed to President of the Republic Joseph Aoun "the concerns and fears of a wide segment of the educational community, especially students who are facing difficult security, social, and psychological conditions in various Lebanese regions."

Murr said, after the meeting: "We were honored, as a delegation from the Parliamentary Education Committee, to visit the President of the Republic, where we presented to him our objective observations regarding the mechanism adopted by the Ministry of Education for conducting official exams. We emphasized the necessity of taking into account the exceptional circumstances that students are going through, in order to preserve their safety and guarantee their right to education and to take exams under fair and safe conditions."

He added: "We handed the President a memorandum containing our observations and proposals on the proposed plan, based on our keenness to protect the unity of Lebanon and maintain the stability of the educational sector."

He continued: "We informed the President of the Republic that the Parliamentary Education Committee will hold tomorrow an expanded consultative meeting with the various components of the educational community to complete the discussion on the required steps."

He concluded: "We count on a response to these demands and proposals, given their national and educational priority at this delicate stage."
