President Aoun on Army Martyrs' Anniversary: They Wrote with Their Blood the Purest Pages of Heroism

President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, noted on the occasion of Army Martyrs' Day: "On this day, we stand in reverence before the memory of the martyrs of our national army, who gave their lives as a sacrifice for Lebanon's sovereignty, the unity of its land, and the dignity of its people. They were men who believed that the homeland deserves the dearest sacrifices, so they proceeded on the path of duty without hesitation, and wrote with their blood the purest pages of heroism and belonging."

He stressed that "the martyrs of the Lebanese army are not numbers forgotten with the passage of time, but rather a living symbol of the meaning of loyalty and sacrifice, and an example for every soldier who wears the military uniform today in defense of the homeland's borders, its institutions, and the security of its citizens. Their memory is a trust upon our shoulders, and our gratitude to them is not complete except by preserving the values for which they were martyred: a free, sovereign, and independent Lebanon."

President Aoun added: "On this occasion, I affirm before the families of the martyrs and before all Lebanese that the Lebanese state remains faithful to its pledge, committed to caring for the families of the martyrs and preserving their legacy. Their memory will remain a beacon guiding us in the march of building the homeland and supporting its military institution, which embodies the unity of all Lebanese. Glory to our martyrs, eternity to their memory, and pride to our army, the faithful guardian."
