Sources aware of communications between President Joseph Aoun and Speaker Nabih Berri told MTV that Hezbollah’s pledge not to engage in a support war cannot be relied upon, as the group previously broke its March promise not to drag Lebanon into the conflict, suggesting it may repeat this behavior.

In a related context, Lebanese Forces sources warned MTV that if the crisis regarding electricity payment dues is not resolved and the issue of Hezbollah’s explosives is referred to the Judicial Council, “there will be a problem.”

MTV sources added that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam is attempting to ease tensions with the Lebanese Forces and asked the Energy Minister to rescind his boycott; however, the latter refused to reverse his decision until the outstanding dues are paid.
