A memorandum of understanding was signed between the General Directorate of the Presidency of the Republic and the Lebanese University.

President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, said before the university president and deans: "The Lebanese University is not just an academic edifice, but it is the educational conscience of the state, and it is the institution that Lebanon believed in as a weapon against ignorance and marginalization."

He added: "Over the decades, the university has produced the finest doctors, engineers, lawyers, and scholars who have carried Lebanon's name high wherever they went."

As for the Director General of the Presidency of the Republic, Antoine Choucair, he affirmed that "the memorandum of understanding is a qualitative plan in the path of building capacities and competencies between the professors and students of the national university and the employees of the first presidency."

For his part, the President of the Lebanese University, Bassam Badran, pointed out that "the cooperation between the presidency and the university converges in the national renaissance project for the sake of Lebanon, the message, and the human being."
