Rajji and McEntee Discuss UNIFIL File and Weapon Containment in Lebanon
Lebanese Foreign Minister Joseph Rajji met with Irish counterpart Helen McEntee to discuss the UNIFIL mandate, the investigation into an Irish soldier's death, and the necessity of containing Hezbollah's weapons.

Foreign Minister and Emigrants Affairs Minister Joseph Rajji posted on "X": "I received Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Helen McEntee, and thanked her for her country's role in UNIFIL forces and the sacrifices made by its soldiers. I informed her that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following up on the file regarding the incident that led to the death of the Irish soldier, aiming to hold those responsible for the attack accountable.
We agreed on the necessity of maintaining an international presence in the south, and discussed the role that the European Union, currently presided over by her country, could play.
I expressed our concern about a new war being prepared by Hezbollah at Iran's request, and mentioned the necessity of Israel's withdrawal and cessation of its aggressions. I also referred to government decisions regarding the containment of weapons and the prohibition of the party's military and security activities, emphasizing the role of the Lebanese Army and the importance of supporting it so it can fulfill its mission."
