Salim Discusses Developments with President of Finland

Prime Minister Nouf Salim met with President of Finland Alexander Stubb, attended by Ambassador Ibrahim Assaf, Director of Political and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. The meeting focused on the latest developments in Lebanon and the region, particularly regional escalation and its repercussions.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to pluralism and the central role of the United Nations in maintaining international peace and security, underscoring the importance of defending the rule-based international order and strengthening multilateral cooperation.

Prime Minister Salim thanked Finland for its contribution to UNIFIL forces and its role in supporting stability in southern Lebanon. Both sides welcomed efforts aimed at ensuring the continuity of the United Nations presence in Lebanon and emphasized the importance of maintaining an international force after the conclusion of UNIFIL’s mandate, to prevent any vacuum and contribute to ongoing stability.
