The Ministry of Economy and Trade announced in a statement that it has seized "61 electric generators to date, within one month of a intensified campaign targeting major violators among generator owners across various regions, with support from the State Security apparatus".

It clarified that "the seizure of non-compliant generators is carried out in favor of local authorities—municipalities and governors—for operation and management to ensure citizens' right to electricity supply".

It noted that "418 violation reports have been issued against non-compliant generators since the beginning of the year up to last weekend, including dozens during our ongoing nationwide campaign coordinated with security and judicial agencies. We have also conducted 16,668 on-site inspections since the start of the year, responded to 1,498 citizen complaints, and issued 786 violation reports across various types of infractions, including generators, commodity prices, and food safety".
