Speaker Nabih Berri commended the steadfast national loyalty of border village communities amid Israeli false claims and ongoing destruction in southern Lebanon.

Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri expressed his approval of the statements and positions issued by the heads of municipal councils and spiritual leaders in the border villages and towns, particularly the Christian communities in the districts of Marjeyoun and Bint Jbeil. He highlighted the recent declaration by the Rimish municipality, which rejected and refuted the false allegations made by the Israeli Prime Minister claiming that the inhabitants of these villages desire to join the Israeli entity. Berri affirmed that the stances of the residents and community figures in these villages, their steadfastness, and their attachment to their land and identity reflect the authenticity of their genuine national allegiance, which they will not compromise under any circumstances.
Berri warned against falling prey to the lies and fabrications propagated by Israeli political authorities, which carry divisive agendas aiming to sow discord among the border area inhabitants. He emphasized that the concerns, wounds, hopes, and sufferings of these communities remain unified, centered on ending the war, liberating the land, returning to it, and rebuilding what has been destroyed and continues to be destroyed daily by Israeli aggression.
Separately, Berri stressed the necessity for the Lebanese state and the Arab and international communities to intervene to halt the ongoing systematic destruction and demolition of villages in Bint Jbeil city and its district, as well as in the districts of Marjeyoun, Nabatieh, and Tyre. He noted that these actions clearly reveal the true intentions of the Israeli enemy to render large areas of southern Lebanon uninhabitable, a situation that can no longer be met with silence as it is today.
