The Environment Subcommittee, led by MP Najat Aoun, continued examining the draft law to safeguard underwater cultural heritage with input from various ministries and experts.

The Environment Subcommittee, chaired by MP Najat Aoun and attended by MP Qassem Hashem, convened a session to continue reviewing the proposed legislation aimed at protecting submerged cultural heritage. Representatives from several ministries participated, including Lieutenant Colonel Munir Aqiqi and Lieutenant Colonel Antoine Al-Qazzi from the Ministry of National Defense, Jumana Nakhle, Director of the Office at the Ministry of Culture, Ambassador George Beitar from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Engineer Kabi Daaboul from the Ministry of Energy and Water, Colonel Mazen Saqr representing the General Directorate of Public Security, as well as lawyer Chantal Ghosh representing the Beirut Bar Association. Experts Manal Nader and Nazek Al-Dabbas were also present.
During the session, the committee reviewed the collective observations submitted by participants in the subcommittee. Most of these remarks were accepted, and discussions will continue in subsequent meetings.
