The Syrian Minister of Culture, Mohammad Yaseen Al-Saleh, announced an official invitation extended to Lebanese singer Fadl Shaker to visit Syria. This invitation honors Shaker's supportive stance toward the Syrian people and his early alignment with their aspirations.

In a post on his personal account on the platform "X," the minister stated that Fadl Shaker "wrote the lines of his freedom himself" by standing with the Syrian people's revolution. He noted that the artist chose to express his position openly and that his voice remained present among his audience despite the challenges he faced in recent years.

“The free artist Fadl Shaker wrote the lines of his freedom himself since he sided with the blessed Syrian people's revolution. He accompanied its stages and turning points and paid a heavy price for his position. He did not lose faith in it when many abandoned it. Today, as Fadl Shaker breathes the air of freedom following his release, the free Syrians who love and appreciate him congratulate him,” the minister wrote.

The minister added that the Ministry of Culture extended the invitation to Shaker to visit Damascus "as an honor and a gesture of gratitude," befitting his artistic status and that of the loyal intellectuals and artists who supported the Syrian people during their ordeal. He emphasized that this initiative reflects appreciation for individuals who took positions supporting the Syrian people's aspirations.

He affirmed that "the new Syria does not forget those who stood by it," highlighting that honoring cultural and artistic figures who supported Syrians represents a policy based on loyalty to those who backed the path of change. It also aims to highlight the role played by cultural and artistic elites in following events and conveying the Syrians' voice to public opinion.

This invitation aligns with the Ministry of Culture's interest in strengthening the presence of Arab cultural and artistic figures in the Syrian cultural scene and opening a new chapter of cooperation and communication with creatives whose stances have been linked to pivotal moments in Syria's modern history.
