President Donald Trump stated that he sent a stern message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following an Israeli strike on the southern suburb of Beirut. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the timing of the strike, which took place shortly before the expected signing of an agreement with Iran.

In remarks to Israel’s Channel 12, Trump said he was not pleased with the military operation, emphasizing that its timing angered him, especially as it preceded what he described as an important agreement.

He questioned, "Why did Bibi carry out this strike?" and added that "the fire from Hezbollah did not cause any injuries, and the Israeli response in Beirut greatly upset me."

Trump noted that he had "clearly communicated his position to Netanyahu," stressing that "the decision did not show sufficient appreciation of the consequences."

He revealed that he was informed about the attack only about an hour before the scheduled signing of the agreement with Iran, stating, "They called me and told me Israel was attacking Beirut, and I could not believe it was happening."

Despite this, the U.S. president expressed his belief that the agreement with Iran remains signable within the coming hours, despite the delay caused by the strike.

Trump explained that the proposed agreement includes guarantees that Iran will not possess nuclear weapons, allows inspections of suspicious sites within a 24-hour timeframe, and requires the elimination of Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium. He described the deal as "good for Israel."
