Volatile Autumn Weather Dominates Lebanon with Relative Temperature Stability

The Forecasting Department at the Meteorological Service of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation predicted that tomorrow's weather will be partly cloudy with fog on the highlands and stable temperatures. Scattered rains will fall occasionally, with a possibility of lightning, thunder, and active winds, interspersed with clearings during the day.

The bulletin stated the following:

– General Situation:

Volatile autumn weather dominates Lebanon and the Eastern Mediterranean Basin with temperatures below seasonal averages due to the influence of a low-pressure system centered southwest of Turkey, leading to occasional scattered rains, accompanied by lightning, thunder, and active winds until noon on Sunday, when it gradually stabilizes.

Average temperatures for September: Tripoli between 22 and 32°C, Beirut 24 and 32°C, Zahle between 16 and 32°C.

Wednesday:

Partly cloudy to sometimes cloudy with fog on the highlands and a slight drop in temperatures on the coast and above the mountains, while rising inland. Winds become active and scattered rains fall, intensifying sometimes from the afternoon onwards, especially in northern areas, with lightning and thunder.

Thursday:

Partly cloudy with fog on the highlands and stable temperatures. Scattered rains fall occasionally with a possibility of lightning, thunder, and active winds, interspersed with clearings during the day.

Friday:

Partly cloudy to sometimes cloudy with fog on the highlands and stable temperatures. Scattered rains fall, intensifying sometimes, especially in southern areas from the afternoon onwards, with lightning, thunder, and active winds causing sea waves to rise. Clearings are expected during the day.

Saturday:

Partly cloudy with fog on the highlands and no significant change in temperatures. Light scattered rains fall occasionally during the day, with wide clearings expected from the afternoon onwards.

– Temperatures on the coast range from 21 to 28 degrees; above the mountains from 12 to 20 degrees; inland from 13 to 25 degrees.

-Surface winds: Active southwesterly, speeds ranging between 15 and 45 km/h.

-Visibility: Average on the coast, poor sometimes on the highlands due to fog.

-Relative humidity on the coast: Between 60 and 80%.

-Sea condition: Choppy, water surface temperature: 28°C.

-Atmospheric pressure: 760 mm Hg.
