What Did the Government Presidency Announce Regarding the Solar Energy File?

Issued by the Presidency of the Government:

"Based on instructions from the Prime Minister: Abandoning the decision on regulating the installation of solar panels and referring the issue to the National Electricity Sector Regulatory Authority.

Following instructions from Prime Minister Nouf Salam at the beginning of the Council of Ministers session, the issue of the mechanism and conditions for installing solar panels with a production capacity below 1.5 megawatts has been referred to the National Electricity Sector Regulatory Authority to take appropriate decisions according to its powers, after consulting the Ministry of Environment and relevant administrations and institutions, in accordance with Article /26/ of Law No. 462/2002 and its amendments.

Thus, the justifications for issuing Joint Decision No. 1234 dated 9/9/2026 are eliminated, and it is hereby abandoned."
