Prime Minister Nouf Salam received French Minister of Justice Gérald Darmanin (Gérald Darmanin) and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Minister of Justice Adel Nassar and French Ambassador to Lebanon Patrick Douril.

The meeting addressed Lebanese-French relations and ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the judicial and legal fields, supporting the path of judicial reforms and enhancing judicial independence, particularly in light of ongoing collaboration between the ministries of justice in both countries.

Discussions also covered developments in the south amid recent Israeli escalation, and diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese territory and restoring stability to the region.

Additionally, the future of international presence in southern Lebanon and the phase following the end of UNIFIL’s mandate were discussed, emphasizing the need to avoid any power vacuum and to support the Lebanese Army in establishing state authority across its entire territory.
