On Wednesday, French President Emmanuel Macron attacked foreign leaders, accusing them of "launching campaigns at the expense of France" by issuing "statements that are as unacceptable as they are stupid."

Macron was responding to remarks by US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the violence witnessed in France, where Trump attributed the protests to immigration, according to Monte Carlo radio.

Macron stated that "foreign leaders, including those 'on the other side of the Atlantic,' are using anti-immigration rhetoric and exploiting the disturbances in France to serve their own political agendas," describing these statements as "unacceptable" and "stupid."

Macron condemned what he called "foreign manipulation of information, which led to statements that are as unacceptable as they are stupid, issued by many, including foreign leaders," although he noted that "no clear foreign interventions were detected in the events."

He added: "There are people launching campaigns at the expense of France, and leaders running election campaigns in the region or on the other side of the Atlantic, who sometimes naively repost what is produced by artificial intelligence, or promote what some entities naturally want others to believe."
