A former Iraqi army captain is arrested for impersonating a colonel and the security director of the Iraqi embassy in Lebanon.

A former Iraqi army captain, now retired, has been arrested by Lebanese military intelligence for impersonating a high-ranking security official. The suspect, Tariq Ali Muhammad al-Nasrawi, allegedly used the false identity of "Tariq al-Husseini," claiming to be a colonel serving as the security director of the Iraqi embassy in Lebanon.
According to a security source speaking to MTV, al-Nasrawi's motives were purely for personal gain. He is said to have used the fabricated rank and position to obtain services from various security agencies he contacted. The source emphasized that there were no political or security-related backgrounds to his actions.
Military intelligence had been monitoring al-Nasrawi for some time. The investigation was triggered after an officer, who had a relationship with the suspect and had helped him connect with security figures, reported him. Al-Nasrawi was taken into custody last Thursday and immediately confessed to his actions, the source added.
The suspect, who is married to a Lebanese woman, had a large number of photos on his phone. These images reportedly confirmed his communications with numerous security personnel.
