Civil registry records from southern Lebanon, moved from their original centers to the General Directorate of Personal Status in Beirut to shield them from Israeli bombardment, were inspected by Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar during a field visit.

During the tour, al-Hajjar met with civil registrars from Nabatieh, Marjeyoun, Tyre, Mays al-Jabal, Jwaya, Jbaa, and Tebnine. Rodina Maarouf, the acting director general of Personal Status, and Rasha Hourani, director of the Joint Administrative Directorate, were also present. The minister reviewed the current workflow for processing citizen transactions, particularly for displaced families, as well as the challenges and needs tied to maintaining administrative services.

Al-Hajjar stressed the importance of providing all possible facilities to citizens and completing their paperwork as quickly as possible under the current circumstances. He affirmed that everything necessary would be secured to ensure the smooth operation and continuity of the public service.

The minister also praised the dedication of the civil registrars and staff, commending their commitment to following up on citizens’ affairs and delivering essential services.
