Seizure of Tons of Smuggled Tobacco, Molasses, and Fruits
The General Directorate of Customs announced the seizure of large quantities of smuggled tobacco, molasses, and seasonal fruits in operations in Akkar and Beirut, with investigations underway.

The General Directorate of Customs announced in a statement that, "within the framework of the work of the General Directorate of Customs - Tripoli police in the field of combating smuggling, a patrol from the Aboudiya detachment and police investigation seized a large quantity of smuggled tobacco and molasses following a raid on a shop in the Akkar region. The goods were confiscated and transported along with their owner to the Aboudiya Customs Center, and investigations with those involved have begun under the supervision of the competent judiciary to take the necessary legal action."
It pointed out that "this operation comes within the ongoing efforts to protect the consumer, preserve food security, and prevent the loss of fees to the state treasury."
The Directorate also announced "the seizure by the Land Combat Division in Beirut of large quantities of smuggled seasonal fruits exceeding 2 tons, and work is underway to complete the investigations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations."
