Affleck’s ‘Enough’ Joke About Washington’s Marriage Sparks Quick Rebuttal
Ben Affleck joked about Kerry Washington’s real-life husband during a promotional interview, prompting an immediate interruption from the actress.

Kerry Washington cut off Ben Affleck mid-sentence with a sharp "Enough!" after the actor made light of her marriage to Nnamdi Asomugha. The exchange occurred while the pair promoted their upcoming Netflix political thriller, Animals, in which they portray a married couple.
The Set Visit and Early Cut
Washington disclosed during an Entertainment Tonight interview that her husband visited the production set. She confirmed he viewed an early version of the film, stating, “Yeah, he came to set and he saw an early cut.”
Asomugha, a former NFL cornerback and actor, previously played for the Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, and San Francisco 49ers. His presence on set provided context for Affleck’s subsequent comments regarding the dynamic between the two men.
Affleck’s Playful Commentary
Affleck, who identifies as a New England Patriots fan, addressed his connection to Asomugha following the athlete’s visit. He remarked, “Nnamdi is no, no joke. I’m a fan just to begin with, but I had a deeper bond with Nnamdi after I had some time pretending to be married to her.”
The actor continued his jesting tone, directing a message toward Asomugha: “I was like, ‘I see you. I feel you. You’re doing a man’s job, sir.’ And I just had to tip the hat because I know this s— is not easy.”
Washington interrupted him immediately, responding, “He’s lucky, and so are you.” Affleck pointed out her reaction, jokingly suggesting it validated his earlier claim. He also compared meeting Asomugha to encountering legendary football players such as Ray Lewis, citing the former player’s athletic build and stature.
Release Timing
The playful interaction underscored the friendship between the two stars. Animals arrives this weekend, offering audiences the opportunity to watch Affleck and Washington perform as spouses on screen.
