Singer Olivia Rodrigo wore an ivory silk lace gown from Chloé by Stella McCartney’s Spring/Summer 1998 collection at the New York City Ballet’s Fall Fashion Gala.

An ivory silk slip dress from a late-1990s archive defined Olivia Rodrigo’s appearance at the New York City Ballet’s Fall Fashion Gala. The singer selected a piece from Chloé by Stella McCartney’s Spring/Summer 1998 collection for the event held at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater.
The floor-length garment featured a deeply plunging V-neckline supported by ultra-thin spaghetti straps. Scalloped lace trim lined the edges of the neckline, introducing a soft vintage element to the silhouette. Smooth silk fabric draped tightly across the waist and hips as Rodrigo posed for photographs.
A lace-paneled godet insert near the hem added texture and movement to the skirt as it flared toward the floor. The design celebrated the figure with quiet sophistication, aligning with old Hollywood glamour aesthetics. Rodrigo let her dark hair fall in loose waves, parted softly to one side.
Makeup artist Karissa O’Hanlon applied a soft, dewy look with a glossy nude lip. Rodrigo avoided heavy jewelry, opting instead to carry Maison Valentino’s embroidered “DeVain” shoulder bag. This choice ensured the plunging lace neckline remained the focal point under the theater lights.
Soft lighting highlighted the sheen of the silk and the delicate lace trim from multiple angles. Rodrigo maintained a composed expression, allowing the vintage gown to dominate the visual narrative. She delivered a masterclass in vintage-inspired glamour, demonstrating how a decades-old gown can still feel fresh.
Inside the venue, Rodrigo provided photographers with an intimate preview of the look before the main event. She posed seated among red velvet chairs, resting one hand gently in her lap. The singer commanded attention throughout the night, turning heads instantly upon arrival.
