Singer Olivia Rodrigo debuted a custom Hussein Chalayan minidress that dissolved in rain to reveal a skeleton micro mini during her Unraveled Tour.

A theatrical costume transformation marked the second night of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Unraveled Tour” in Columbus, Ohio. The 23-year-old performer chose a look tied to her song “The Cure,” creating a dramatic visual effect that captured audience attention on stage.
Rodriggo began the performance wearing a custom pink minidress designed by Hussein Chalayan. This outer layer was engineered to react to water rather than remain static throughout the show. As artificial rain fell on the stage, the fabric gradually lost its structural integrity.
The material first clung tightly to the singer’s body before melting away completely. This process exposed a black skeleton micro mini underneath. The design choice echoed Chalayan’s earlier viral melting dress from the Hartford stop of the same tour. That previous iteration drew inspiration from his Spring/Summer 2016 collection featuring water-soluble garments.
The concealed micro mini featured a sweetheart neckline supported by delicate spaghetti straps. A graphic print covering the front displayed a white rib cage and spine. A bright red heart accentuated the skeletal imagery. As the pink fabric dissolved, Rodrigo manually peeled off remaining pieces while the folded skirt dropped naturally to finalize the reveal.
She completed the ensemble with nude fishnet tights. These hosiery provided a seamless visual finish and allowed freedom of movement for her choreography. The combination of the dissolving top and the printed bottom created a cohesive narrative aligned with the song’s themes of vulnerability.
Rodriggo engaged fully with the staging, standing beneath the falling water with arms raised. At specific moments, she held her microphone high above her head, allowing the rain to soak her hair. Her sleek black hair remained center-parted and wet for the duration of the act.
Her makeup stayed intact despite the constant rainfall. Defined eye makeup and soft pink lips formed the core of the beauty look. The stage appearance maintained a polished aesthetic even as the costume physically changed around her.
