Selma Blair returns to public eye at 90s Con following flight arrest

A recent arrest did not stop Selma Blair from engaging with her audience. The actress appeared publicly for the first time since being detained on October 11, attending the 90s Con convention on Friday, October 16.

Fan interactions at Hartford venue

Blair, aged 54, greeted attendees by posing for photographs and signing autographs at a designated booth. Influencer Brad Deiter shared an image of the interaction on social media late Friday night. The photo depicted Deiter embracing Blair while she remained seated in a chair, with the event’s branding visible in the background.

“Having the greatest time at 90s Con,” Deiter captioned the post. Another attendee posted a similar picture showing herself hugging the *Cruel Intentions* star against the same backdrop.

Event schedule and logistics

The convention takes place at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, running from October 16 through October 18. According to the official website, Blair is scheduled to participate in autograph sessions and photo opportunities throughout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. She is also listed as a participant in a panel discussion, though specific details remain to be determined.

Context of prior detention

This appearance follows allegations that Blair bit a flight attendant, assaulted another individual, and attempted to open an aircraft door mid-flight. Reports indicated she was placed in restraints during the incident and arrested upon landing on Sunday, October 11.

Earlier on Friday, a representative for Blair provided a statement to *Just Jared*. The spokesperson asserted that the actress “experienced a medical emergency” during the flight. The statement clarified that there was no attempt to open the aircraft door and that Blair “did not intend to harm anyone.”

Prior to this incident, Blair had documented biting three different celebrities in her memoir published in 2022.
