Shocking! Miley's album plummets 156 spots in one week
Miley Cyrus’ album Bass Persuades fell from No. 1 to No. 157, marking the largest second-week decline for a debut-topper on the Billboard 200.

A 156-position slide defines the latest chart performance of Miley Cyrus’ Bass Persuades, which exited the top spot and landed at No. 157 during its second week on the Billboard 200. This movement establishes a new benchmark for the sharpest decline experienced by an album that entered the ranking at No. 1.
Record-breaking chart decline explained
The album debuted at the summit last week but dropped significantly within seven days. While Bon Jovi’s This House Is Not for Sale previously fell from No. 1 to No. 169—a larger 168-spot decrease—that release had returned to the top nearly two years after its original launch. Consequently, Cyrus’ trajectory remains the most severe immediate fall for a fresh entry at the peak.
Album details and sales figures
Entertainment Weekly identifies Bass Persuades as the singer’s tenth studio project. It launched with approximately 61,000 total album units, combining physical purchases and streaming equivalents. This opening figure surpasses the 44,000 units recorded by her prior release, Something Beautiful, which entered the chart at No. 4 in 2025.
Released on September 18, the record marks the first time Cyrus has used the mononym "Miley" professionally. The tracklist comprises ten songs: “Bass Persuades,” “Different Religion,” “Let’s Get Married,” “Aftermath,” “REDLIGHTS,” “In My Mind,” “Signs,” “Sunflower,” “Bass Persuades (Remix),” and “Wrecking Ball.” A bonus cut titled “Smile” is also included.
Recent career context
Something Beautiful followed the commercial success of 2023’s Endless Summer Vacation, which peaked at No. 3 and featured the hit single “Flowers.” That song topped the Billboard Hot 100 and achieved eight-times platinum certification. Currently, Taylor Swift’s Midnights holds the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200.
