At the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala, Taylor Swift shared her reaction to being called the New York Knicks' good luck charm. The 36-year-old singer had attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals on June 10 at Madison Square Garden alongside Alana and Este Haim, followed by the gala on June 11 in New York.

How Taylor Swift responded to the Knicks’ good luck charm nickname

During the event, Universal Music executive Evan Lamberg thanked Swift for the Knicks' good luck, saying, “Thank you for our Knicks good luck.” Swift responded with a laugh, stating, “Oh my gosh. You know what, I did what I can. Just had to keep the energy up. Never a doubt.”

Fans have echoed the sentiment that Swift was indeed a good luck charm for the Knicks. One fan remarked, “umm, i’m pretty sure she was channeling all her winning energy to them and that’s how they had a massive comeback to win! thanks @taylorswift13 for bringing your magnetic energy in your clever shirt!”

Other fans added comments such as, “Taylor Swift knew something we didn’t… She is from the future,” and “Shake it off, Knicks!! Taylor is in the house to help you!!” Another wrote, “She has peak lead character syndrome,” while one more stated, “They won and it’s because of Taylor sweetie.”

Following the Knicks’ victory, Swift and the Haim sisters celebrated by dancing to Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” They wore personalized T-shirts in blue and orange, the team’s colors. Swift’s shirt read “Stevie Knicks” in orange lettering on blue, and she styled her hair in a messy braid with her signature red lipstick.
