Karoline Leavitt announced the birth of her daughter Viviana, who is "perfect and healthy," sharing a photo on social media.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has given birth to a daughter. The 28-year-old announced the news on the social media platform X, sharing a photograph of herself holding the newborn in what appeared to be a specially decorated nursery.
Viviana, whom the family calls “Vivi,” was born on May 1st. “Our hearts instantly exploded with love,” Leavitt wrote in her post. She described the baby as “perfect and healthy,” adding that her older brother is “joyfully adjusting to life with his new baby sister.” The press secretary said the family is “enjoying every moment in our blissful newborn bubble.”
Leavitt also expressed gratitude in her message. “Thank you to everyone who reached out with prayers during my pregnancy — I truly felt them throughout this experience. God is good,” she wrote.
Leavitt began her maternity leave at the end of last month. No single individual has been selected to fill her duties during her absence; instead, a rotating team of administration officials is expected to handle the role.
At 28 years old, Leavitt is the youngest press secretary in White House history. She is also the first known to have been pregnant while holding the position.
