Assets Worth $3 Billion: What Happens to Seized Real Estate and Luxury Items in Singapore?
Singapore's authorities are auctioning off over 80 properties and nearly 1,000 luxury items seized in the largest money laundering case in the country's history, with sales starting in September 2024 and continuing through mid-2027.

The auctions will begin in September 2024 and continue until mid-2027, according to a statement released on Saturday by Deloitte Consulting. The process includes more than 80 properties and nearly 1,000 luxury items, all seized as part of Singapore’s largest money laundering case on record.
Details of the Seized Assets
Singaporean authorities have seized over 200 properties, with a significant portion located in upscale areas of the country. Some of these properties, along with cars and numerous residential and commercial units, have already undergone preliminary liquidation procedures. Last year, authorities appointed Deloitte Singapore to oversee the entire liquidation process.
Scope of the Case and Background
The value of assets involved in the case amounts to S$3 billion, equivalent to approximately US$2.4 billion. The case is linked to a criminal group originating from Fujian Province in southern China. Before several members of the group were arrested during raids conducted by authorities in 2023, the group had established family offices, purchased luxury assets, and lived extravagantly in Singapore.
Auction Mechanism and Current Preparations
The statement noted that the assets will be offered for sale in phases, with ongoing efforts to determine the exact number of assets included in each phase. Bloomberg also reported that Deloitte has been in contact with several real estate brokers regarding property sale plans, citing sources familiar with the arrangements.
Contents of the Luxury Auctions
The luxury items to be auctioned include jewelry, watches, and handbags, according to Deloitte. This move is part of formal measures taken by Singaporean authorities following the exposure of the case, which has drawn widespread interest among local financial institutions.
