The Nevada State Police arrested a transgender individual suspected of planning a massacre at a Las Vegas casino after seizing a substantial stockpile of firearms and ammunition.

Alison Howlett, aged 36, was taken into custody last Saturday on charges including making terrorist threats, assault with a deadly weapon, vehicle theft, firearm theft, and other offenses, according to Henderson Police Chief Reggie Radar.

The police received a call from Howlett’s ex-wife reporting the theft of her car, which contained numerous firearms. She warned that Howlett intended either to carry out a "suicide by cop" or launch a mass attack.

Using phone-tracking technology, authorities located the stolen vehicle parked in the garage of the Sun State Station hotel. When officers approached, Howlett refused to comply with orders and played loud music but requested a cup of water.

Officers persuaded Howlett to lower the car window, and when she asked for water, they seized the opportunity to grab her hands and pull her from the vehicle after deploying a stun gun to subdue her.

During the vehicle search, officers found a handgun beneath Howlett where she had been seated, an MP5 automatic rifle on the back seat, along with 22 other firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Additionally, 30 more weapons, including automatic rifles, grenade launchers, and silencers, were discovered at Howlett’s residence.

Investigations revealed that Howlett had previously issued several threats. A recorded call from 2024 captured her threatening to carry out a mass shooting if authorities did not arrest her. The inquiry continues to determine the motives behind these actions.

Howlett remains held at the Clark County Detention Center, with a judge setting bail at $500,000. Police are continuing their investigation to uncover further details about her plans and motivations.
