Key Jordanian Stars Ruled Out of World Cup Squad
Jordan's Yazan Al-Naimat and Adham Al-Quraishi will miss the World Cup due to injuries sustained in December.

Jordan’s national football team will head into its historic first World Cup appearance without two of its most prominent players. Yazan Al-Naimat and Adham Al-Quraishi have been officially ruled out of the tournament due to injuries, a significant blow to the squad known as "Al-Nashama."
Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, head of the Jordan Football Association’s executive body, confirmed the news on his X account. He stated that despite the players’ extensive efforts in rehabilitation over recent months, their injuries prevented them from joining the World Cup delegation. The Prince expressed his appreciation for their sincere desire to represent the nation in this historic mission, wishing them a full recovery and a stronger return for the Asian Cup.
The injuries trace back to December 2025 during the Arab Cup in Qatar. Al-Naimat suffered a severe injury in the quarter-final match against Iraq, while right-back Al-Quraishi tore his anterior cruciate ligament following the final match against Morocco.
Their absence presents a major challenge for the coaching staff, given the players’ high technical value. This is compounded by a difficult group stage draw that pits Jordan against defending champions Argentina, as well as Algeria and Austria.
