McLaren Extends Multi-Year Partnership with Cisco in Formula 1 Racing
McLaren Racing has renewed its multi-year partnership with Cisco to enhance AI and data analytics across its Formula 1 and electric racing teams.

McLaren Racing has announced the extension of its partnership with Cisco, a company specializing in communications and networking technologies, under a multi-year agreement aimed at advancing the use of artificial intelligence and data analytics within McLaren's Formula 1 and electric racing teams.
According to Sportcal, "Under the new agreement, Cisco will continue as an official partner of McLaren, with the team maintaining reliance on Cisco’s solutions in wireless networking, communication systems, and hybrid work tools that support operations both at the racetrack and the team’s technology center."
The publication added that neither McLaren nor Cisco disclosed the financial details of the renewed contract. However, the agreement is part of a growing series of technological partnerships in Formula 1, where data and artificial intelligence have become critical competitive and economic factors among teams.
The new phase of the partnership will emphasize greater application of artificial intelligence and performance monitoring and analysis software. McLaren will integrate the "Splunk" platform for data analytics and system monitoring, a platform Cisco acquired in 2024 in a deal valued at approximately $28 billion.
Cisco’s technologies will assist McLaren in managing the increasing volume of operational and commercial data generated through participation in global championships by enhancing system monitoring, performance analysis, and supporting technical decision-making within the team.
Nick Martin, McLaren Racing’s co-chief commercial officer, stated, "Cisco’s technologies have become an essential part of how the team operates both at the factory and on the track," noting that the partnership will continue to support the team’s ability to leverage artificial intelligence opportunities to maintain connectivity, security, and competitiveness.
The collaboration between McLaren and Cisco began in 2021 when Cisco became the official collaboration partner of McLaren’s Formula 1 team. The agreement expanded in 2022 and 2024, now evolving into a stage focused on artificial intelligence and data management.
This new agreement comes amid an intensifying technological investment race among global Formula 1 teams, particularly in cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, and artificial intelligence, aimed at improving sporting performance, increasing commercial value, and enhancing fan engagement.
McLaren holds a strong commercial position in the championship, having achieved significant sporting successes in recent years. The team secured the Constructors’ Championship title in the 2025 season, while its driver Lando Norris won the Drivers’ Championship, boosting the team’s appeal to global partners in the technology sector.
