The Miami Grand Prix Formula 1 competitions kicked off with a clear lead for Ferrari team driver, Charles Leclerc, who successfully recorded the fastest time during the first free practice session. Leclerc directly benefited from the new updates introduced to his car, confirming the Italian team's readiness to compete strongly throughout the weekend.
Charles Leclerc managed to deliver a strong lap, placing the Ferrari car in first position by the end of the session. The results showed that the technical adjustments adopted by the team quickly bore fruit, giving the Monegasque driver the advantage in the first rounds of the track in Miami.
For his part, world champion Max Verstappen, driver for the Red Bull team, finished in second place with a narrow margin not exceeding three-tenths of a second. Despite the good speed Verstappen showed with the updates Red Bull introduced to his car in this race, it was not enough to snatch the lead from the Ferrari driver.
The opening session reflected a state of intense closeness in performance between the Ferrari and Red Bull teams. As the rest of the competitors continue to try and chase the leading duo, preliminary indications point to a promising start for a fierce battle that the race and the rest of the Miami Grand Prix events will witness.
