The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models are scheduled for release this September, alongside a new foldable iPhone, while the standard iPhone 18 will be postponed to a spring launch.

Among the key updates for the iPhone 18 Pro are a smaller Dynamic Island, a variable aperture main camera designed to offer more precise depth of field control, and a new selection of colors including a red option. Additionally, Apple will introduce its C2 modem, marking the first time a Pro iPhone incorporates this technology, which also supports 5G connectivity via satellite.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to be thicker than its predecessor and to include a significantly larger battery. Combined with the new C2 modem, this should result in notable improvements in battery life.

Performance enhancements will include the A20 Pro chip, Apple’s first-generation 2nm processor, and the N2 networking chip. The iPhone 18 Pro is anticipated to maintain 12GB of RAM, consistent with the previous model. Apple also plans to redesign the Camera Control interface to reduce accidental activations.

While additional features may be announced, these are the known upgrades so far.

Price increases are widely expected for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, following recent significant hikes in Apple’s iPad and Mac products. Estimates suggest the cost could rise by as much as $300. The base iPhone 18 Pro model might be priced between $1199 and $1399, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could range from $1299 to $1499.

This potential price jump represents a considerable increase for consumers, especially given the relatively modest improvements compared to the previous generation.

For those considering an upgrade, purchasing the iPhone 17 Pro remains a viable option. The current prices for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are $1099 and $1199, respectively, and the older models offer similar performance to the upcoming releases.

Given ongoing supply constraints related to AI datacenter memory demands, Apple product prices are unlikely to decrease in the near future, suggesting buyers should plan accordingly.

Recommended Apple accessories include the Anker MagSafe/Qi2 Ultra-Slim Battery Pack, AirPods Pro 3 with enhanced active noise cancellation, Anker Nano 45W Fast Charger with Smart Display, Anker Nano 13-in-1 MacBook Docking Station, Logitech MX Master 4 Mouse for Mac, and the Belkin Qi2 3-in-1 MagSafe Charging Stand.
