An iFixit teardown reveals Donald Trump’s T1 phone closely matches the HTC U24 Pro, with only minor differences in components and design.

An analysis published on June 10 by iFixit shows that Donald Trump’s T1 phone shares extensive similarities with the HTC U24 Pro, a model released in 2024. The investigation involved a detailed teardown and comparison of both devices.
The process began with a Lumafield CT scan, which produced radiographic images indicating that the internal structures of the Trump Mobile T1 and the HTC U24 Pro are almost identical. Although some variations were noted, the overall design and component layout were strikingly similar.
The Trump phone’s back cover displayed slight modifications compared to the HTC model, including a repositioned flash and a longer flex cable visible upon removal of the cover. Both phones featured the same speaker units, but the grille pattern on the Trump device showed minor differences.

On the front, the screen panels of both phones appeared the same, despite the manufacturers listing different dimensions. Pixel density and layout matched closely, and the placement of internal components was comparable. The study concluded that the circuit boards for both phones were likely produced by the same factories.
Battery specifications presented a small discrepancy: the T1 phone contains a 19.35 Wh battery, whereas the HTC U24 Pro uses a 17.23 Wh battery of similar size. Charging capabilities also differed, with the Trump phone supporting a 30W charger in contrast to the HTC device’s 60W charger.
Further testing demonstrated that the Trump Mobile T1 could operate using the mainboard designed for the HTC U24 Pro, reinforcing the similarity between the two devices.
