LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 18, 2026, following its earlier debut on other platforms.

On September 18, 2026, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will become available for Nintendo Switch 2 users, arriving about four months after its initial launch on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. TT Games and Warner Bros. Games announced the release date alongside a new gameplay trailer, with pre-orders now open for both Standard and Deluxe editions priced at $69.99 / £69.99 and $89.99 / £89.99 respectively.
The game offers an open-world action-adventure experience that spans Batman's 86-year history across comics, television, film, and video games. TT Games describes it as a comprehensive journey through the Dark Knight's mythology, starting from his early battles against Gotham's criminals to his role as the city's most formidable protector. Players can choose from seven characters—Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Jim Gordon, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul—each equipped with unique gadgets and combat abilities. Additional characters Joker and Harley Quinn are available through the Mayhem Collection DLC.
Upon its release on Steam, the game received a 96% positive rating based on over 4,800 reviews. It also topped the UK physical sales chart in late May 2026, surpassing 007: First Light during its debut week, according to Nintendo Life. The combat mechanics are influenced by the Arkham series, targeting a more mature LEGO gaming audience rather than young children.
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition arrives later than versions on other platforms, consistent with Nintendo's pattern of delayed major third-party ports. To compensate, the Deluxe Edition for Switch 2 includes a physical retro Batman minifigure exclusive to this release, available only while supplies last, as stated in Warner Bros. Games' press release. Unlike other platforms, there is no confirmed day-one Game Pass availability for the Switch 2 version.
The Standard Edition's price of $69.99 aligns with current AAA game pricing, while the Deluxe Edition at $89.99 bundles the Mayhem Collection DLC and the exclusive minifigure for Switch 2 purchasers.
For players who have experienced the game on other platforms, the only new feature for the Switch 2 version is the minifigure included in the Deluxe Edition. However, for those who primarily use Switch 2, this title stands out as one of the highest-rated games of 2026 to date, with the September 18 release providing a clear date to anticipate.
