Microsoft Tests Apple Sign-In Feature in Edge Across Platforms

Edge Beta version 152 now includes Apple Account sign-in support as part of a controlled rollout across Windows and macOS, according to Microsoft’s official release notes. The functionality is not yet available to all Beta users.

A user identified as Leopeva64 on X observed two new experimental flags in the most recent Edge Canary desktop build related to Apple Account authentication. Tecnoblog reported the finding, citing MacMagazine as an intermediary source.

How the Apple Sign-In Flags Work

One flag, labeled “Apple Sign-In Button on Profile Menu,” displays an Apple sign-in option within Edge’s profile menu. It requires the second flag—“Sign in with Apple”—to be enabled for the sign-in process to function. Both flags are active on Mac and Windows platforms.

The technical identifiers for the flags are #edge-enable-apple-sign-in-button-on-flyout and #edge-swag-m1-apple. Microsoft previously introduced a comparable Google Account sign-in option, and the Apple implementation follows that same UI pattern.

Once fully deployed, the feature will let users log into Edge profiles using their existing Apple Account credentials, eliminating the requirement to use or establish a Microsoft Account for browser synchronization and personalization.
