Google initially stated the Lenovo Googlebook 15 would begin at $1,299, but Lenovo has now confirmed the actual starting price is $1,099. This entry-level configuration includes a Core Ultra 5 chip, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. While Best Buy displays the corrected $1,099 price, the Google Store continues to list the machine at $1,149. Lenovo indicated that its Googlebook, along with other models in the series, will be available for purchase starting October 4.

Hardware specifications and design

The Lenovo Googlebook 15 is among the first five devices running the new Googlebook OS, which replaces ChromeOS. Designed for “professionals, creators, and business owners,” the laptop features Intel Core Ultra 5 processors with built-in Gemini Intelligence. It supports up to 32GB of memory and up to 512GB of storage. The device delivers up to 47 TOPS of performance while weighing under 3 lbs., making it the lightest 15-inch device in Lenovo’s portfolio.

Core hardware includes a 15-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Additional features comprise a haptic trackpad, 12.5-hour battery life, top-facing Dolby Atmos speakers, and a metal chassis. This is not the only instance where initial pricing announcements were inaccurate. The Dell XPS Googlebook was originally announced with a starting price of $1,199 but actually costs $999. These discrepancies appear to stem solely from Google’s end, as Best Buy consistently displayed the correct prices. Google has not publicly acknowledged the specific reasons for these errors.

Among the current lineup, Asus and HP’s Googlebooks still start at $1,299. The Acer Googlebook remains the most affordable option at $899. For consumers interested in purchasing a Googlebook, the lower prices represent favorable news despite the lack of official explanation from Google regarding the pricing corrections.
