Spotify introduces enhanced controls for Release Radar, allowing users to tailor weekly music recommendations by genre and artist preferences.

Nearly 9 million Spotify users access Release Radar each Friday to discover new music, with the playlist blending fresh releases from followed artists and personalized singles. This month, Spotify is rolling out new features that enable listeners to refine their weekly playlist experience through customizable filters.

The updated Release Radar will present controls at the top of the playlist on both the app and web platforms. Users can select up to five options, such as focusing on a specific genre, highlighting new-to-you artists, or choosing editor-curated picks, along with additional personalized choices based on listening behavior.
Alongside these new filtering options, Release Radar will feature refreshed header artwork and technical enhancements designed to deliver sharper and more relevant song recommendations tailored to individual tastes.
Spotify also emphasized other discovery tools it has introduced, including editor-led video recommendations on New Music Friday, Fresh Finds’ support for emerging independent artists, and genre customization within Discover Weekly. The latter has achieved over 100 billion streams since its launch.
Further details about the upcoming Release Radar updates are available through Spotify’s official channels.
