Barcelona's young talent Lamine Yamal was the only player to report to the club’s sports city on Sunday to continue his rehabilitation program, while his teammates began their summer holidays.

A few days ago, when asked if he would take a penalty as the captain of a club in the Kings League, Yamal responded, "I won’t touch the ball until the World Cup arrives." This statement reflects the seriousness with which the young player is approaching his recovery, aiming to reach the World Cup in optimal physical condition.

This development comes less than 24 hours before the announcement of the 26-player squad that coach Luis de la Fuente will select to represent Spain at the World Cup.

According to the newspaper AS, "Unlike his teammates who celebrated, Lamine Yamal headed to the sports city to place himself under the supervision of physiotherapist Pablo Merino, who is working closely with him during this period."

It is expected that Fernando Galán will take over this responsibility later when Yamal joins the national team camp in Las Rozas.

The objective, as reported by AS from the first day, is for Lamine Yamal to be 100% ready to participate in Spain’s third group stage match against Uruguay on July 27.

Barcelona’s squad officially began their holidays on Sunday. Players not participating in the World Cup will have more than a month and a half of rest and will not return to training until July 15. International players are currently enjoying a week off before joining their national teams.

Yamal will not be alone at the sports city next week; German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen will also be present as he recovers from a severe left calf muscle injury.

This injury has completely prevented ter Stegen from responding to the German national team’s call-up and participating in the World Cup.
