Minister of Interior and Municipalities: Expatriates' Participation in Elections is a Constitutional Right

The Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmad al-Hajjar, received a delegation from the Lebanese Cultural University in the World, headed by Fares Wahba, in the presence of the Executive Director of the "Civil Impact Forum," Ziad al-Sayegh, where the discussion focused on the conditions of the Lebanese diaspora and ways to enhance communication between the state and its children spread across various parts of the world.

The meeting addressed the role played by expatriates in supporting Lebanon on economic, social, and national levels, in addition to their contribution to enhancing Lebanon's presence and image abroad.

Al-Hajjar stressed that expatriates form a fundamental pillar in Lebanon's march of recovery and rehabilitation, praising their continuous support for the homeland in various circumstances.

In response to a question about parliamentary elections, the Minister of Interior emphasized the commitment to enshrining the right of Lebanese expatriates to vote, as a constitutional right that enhances their participation in national life.

Al-Hajjar also received former minister Zeina Akar, where they reviewed the general situation in the country.
