Egypt Secures $15 Million Bonus for Reaching 2026 World Cup Round of 16
Egypt's national football team has earned a $15 million bonus after qualifying for the 2026 World Cup round of 16 for the first time.

Egypt's national football team continues to reap benefits from the World Cup, not only in sporting terms but financially as well, after securing a substantial bonus by advancing to the round of 16 for the first time in their history.
According to the prize system established for the expanded edition of the tournament, the Egyptian Football Association will receive $15 million as a reward for reaching the round of 16.
The financial gains are not limited to this bonus alone. Every team that qualifies for the 2026 World Cup finals receives $12.5 million, which includes $10 million for participation in the tournament and an additional $2.5 million allocated for preparations and training.
This raises the total guaranteed financial return for the Egyptian Football Association to $27.5 million so far, thanks to their progression to the knockout stages.
The possibility remains for these earnings to increase, as the Egyptian team will be awarded an extra bonus if they defeat Argentina and advance to the quarterfinals, which would raise the total prize money to $31.5 million.
Egypt is preparing to face one of the toughest challenges in the tournament when they meet the defending champions Argentina in the round of 16, aiming to continue making history and achieve an unprecedented accomplishment in their World Cup participations.
