Egyptian President to Honor National Football Team After World Cup Milestone

Thousands of Egyptians from various governorates, including prominent figures from the arts and politics, gathered in El Alamein city to participate in the official and popular reception of Egypt's football team.

The crowd waved Egyptian and Palestinian flags and held up images of the players with inscriptions expressing pride in their World Cup performance, celebrating Egypt's historic achievement of reaching the round of 16 for the first time.

President al-Sisi is expected to honor the players in recognition of their distinguished performance in the tournament, where they advanced to the knockout stages for the first time in Egypt's history.

Egypt's journey in the World Cup ended in the round of 16 after a closely contested 3-2 defeat against Argentina.
