Marcus Rashford Faces Injury Doubts Ahead of England vs Ghana Match
Manchester United's Marcus Rashford is reportedly dealing with a hamstring concern following England's World Cup opener against Croatia.

Marcus Rashford is reportedly facing an injury concern ahead of England's upcoming World Cup match against Ghana, following his substitute appearance in the opening game against Croatia.
England's World Cup Start
England began their World Cup campaign with a 4-2 victory over Croatia. Harry Kane opened the scoring from the penalty spot, but Martin Baturina equalised with an impressive goal. Kane then restored England’s lead by heading in a corner delivered by Arsenal's Declan Rice.
Croatia responded once more when Petar Musa capitalised on a knockdown to level the score at 2-2. Early in the second half, Jude Bellingham put England ahead again with a well-executed finish after a strong run.
Rashford entered the match as a substitute and secured the win by scoring the fourth goal. Despite being on the bench initially, with Anthony Gordon starting, Rashford’s impact was decisive.
The match also highlighted a recent transfer decision: Rashford had been on loan at Barcelona during the 2025/26 season, but the club opted not to sign him permanently, choosing instead to acquire Gordon. Rashford’s performance may prompt reconsideration of that choice.
Details on Rashford's Injury
Reports indicate that Rashford experienced tightness in his hamstring after the game against Croatia. He did not participate in a practice match on Thursday against Kansas City, which England won 5-1, where other substitutes featured.
The injury is described as affecting the hamstring and glute area. England’s coaching staff, including Thomas Tuchel, are reportedly concerned but hopeful that the issue is not severe and that Rashford will be available for the Ghana match.
