In the concluding match of Group A at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, South Korea achieved a thrilling 2-1 win against the Czech Republic early Friday. The tournament is being held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Czech team initially took the lead with a goal from Ladislav Krejčí in the 59th minute of the game.

South Korea responded in the 67th minute when Hwang In-beom, a player for the Dutch club Feyenoord, scored the equalizer.

Substitute Hyeon Gyu Oh, a winger for the Turkish club Beşiktaş, secured the winning goal in the 80th minute, just 11 minutes after replacing star player Son Heung-min.

Earlier in the group, Mexico opened the tournament with a 2-0 victory over South Africa in an exciting match.

The upcoming fixtures in Group A include Mexico facing South Korea on Friday, followed by the Czech Republic playing against South Africa.
