Ronald Koeman, the head coach of the Netherlands national football team, revealed the squad of 26 players selected to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The World Cup draw placed the Netherlands alongside Japan, Sweden, and Tunisia in the group stage. The tournament is scheduled to begin on June 11.
The Dutch squad is captained by Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. The roster also includes Memphis Depay, the all-time leading scorer for the Netherlands, currently playing for Corinthians.
The list features unexpected omissions such as Liverpool's Jeremie Frimpong, who has had limited playing time this season, and Matthijs de Ligt, who was excluded due to injury.
