After 'Truman Envoys' Ceasefire, Russia Resumes Attacks on Kyiv

Air raid sirens sounded in Kyiv warning of a Russian attack, after a three-day pause coinciding with the visit of U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, according to Ukrainian authorities.
The capital's military administration stated that "air defense systems have been activated in Kyiv," while emergency services reported damage to buildings in the Boryspil and Fastiv districts on the outskirts of the capital.
A Reuters witness said an explosion echoed through the Ukrainian capital Kyiv early Tuesday morning.
The Kyiv military administration announced separately on Telegram that air defense systems had been activated in the city and urged residents to seek shelters.
Earlier, the White House said that envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner discussed "key plans" with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday to end the war in Ukraine.
A White House official told AFP that Witkoff and Kushner "discussed key plans regarding next steps to be announced in the coming weeks, and they look forward to holding productive meetings tomorrow in Ukraine as well."
