The Israeli military conducted a successful test launch in central Israel, in cooperation with the Israeli Missile Defense Organization and Israel Aerospace Industries, aimed at enhancing operational capabilities, testing advanced technologies, and maintaining technological superiority against emerging regional threats, according to a report by the Hebrew-language site "Walla".

A spokesperson for the Israeli Ministry of Defense stated in a statement that the Directorate "Iron Wall," under the Ministry of Defense's Research, Development, and Technological Infrastructure Directorate, in collaboration with the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, the Israeli Defense Forces, and Israel Aerospace Industries, successfully carried out a pre-planned test of the Arrow air defense system.

This test is part of a multi-year program to develop and upgrade the system. The missile was launched from a test range near the Palmachim base.

The spokesperson noted that the Arrow air defense system represents the top tier of Israel’s multi-layered defense system, which also includes systems such as "David’s Sling", "Iron Dome", and "Iron Beam".

According to the spokesperson, "The Arrow system incorporates threat detection and classification capabilities using powerful "Oren Yarok" and "Oren Adir" radars, a command and control system, a fire management system, and intercept missiles capable of engaging threats outside the atmosphere at extremely high altitudes and distances from Israel."

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said: "The Arrow system test conducted today (Wednesday) serves as additional proof of the strength of Israel’s defense establishment, defense industries, and technological capabilities. The Arrow system has proven its worth in wars by successfully intercepting numerous threats from Iran and other fronts, protecting Israeli citizens," he said.

He added: "We continue to constantly enhance its capabilities, and Israel remains ready to confront current and future threats. We will continue investing in developing the most advanced defense systems in the world, while simultaneously strengthening offensive capabilities, to ensure Israel’s defensive supremacy and the security of its citizens."

Meanwhile, Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General (Res.) Amir Paran, said: "The pioneering test of the Arrow system practically embodies the key points of the Ministry of Defense’s strategy, namely maintaining technological superiority through the development of 'next-generation surprises' and enhancing Israel’s independence in weapons development," he said.

He added: "Even today, amid the success of the campaign against Iran, we are working urgently with two interceptor missiles to significantly accelerate production rates and boost system capabilities. Thanks to decisions we made last year, Israel now possesses an increasing inventory of new-generation interceptors that are continuously evolving," he emphasized.
