Bahrain’s interior ministry announced the arrest of 41 people belonging to a network tied to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and the Wilayat al-Faqih doctrine.

Bahrain’s interior ministry announced on Saturday the arrest of 41 individuals belonging to an organization linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. The Bahrain News Agency reported that security forces uncovered the network, which it said is connected to the Guard and the ideology of Wilayat al-Faqih.
“Forty-one people from the main organization have been arrested,” the agency stated, adding that legal procedures against them are ongoing. It also noted that search and investigation operations continue to take necessary action against anyone proven to be involved in the group’s activities or in committing illegal acts.
Earlier this week, on Thursday, Bahrain’s Council of Representatives revoked the membership of three parliamentarians. The move came after they objected to a royal decree that eliminates judicial oversight in nationality matters, following authorities’ revocation of citizenship from dozens of individuals accused of “glorifying” Iranian attacks.
King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa expressed regret that “some legislators aligned themselves with traitors, instead of being a shield for the nation and a voice for truth.”
